The zombie apocalypse is just beginning when Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield arrive in the town of Dulvey to find out what happened to young Sherry Birkin, kidnapped in broad daylight by a mysterious figure. What they find is an old farmhouse slowly being engulfed by darkness and corrupted, with its twisted inhabitants feeding the evil within it. While Leon and Claire battle to save Sherry from her fate, a young boy named Lucas searches for his mother Lynne, who was separated from him by the chaos.The biggest addition to this version is a new "Separate Ways" scenario, a series of side-stories featuring Ada Wong, which take place after the main story. In these scenarios she will have to face enemies from the main scenario as well as enemies exclusive to the scenarios. The post-game unlocks an additional harder difficulty mode called 'Professional' which players can access after they finish Separate Ways. The 'Professional' difficulty mode features an extra mode exclusive to it called "No Retreat", in which players are only given one life to beat the whole game. Instead of saving, players can checkpoints that can be achieved by accomplishing certain tasks that are scattered throughout the levels.
